It's a political ploy went wrong.

The government in power wanted Cambodian to see the government’s achievement for boasting its vote in the election.
It wrote Thai government to ensure Thai that only the temple not the territory dispute would be put in the world heritage.
For Cambodian people, it would look the successful of Cambodian government.
For Thai people, it could lose their territory.
Thus, Thai people weren’t stupid but smart to raise such concern to the world intention to prevent any loss of their territory as the result of this event.
Thai minister who signed the agreement with Cambodian government resigned.

The matter of fact, Cambodian government had nothing to do with the UNESCO decision as the application have been applied since a several years ago and it had been approve since last year. The final vote was in 2008.
All it had to do is to leave it from any political involvement.

When it went out of hand and U.N Security Council called an emergency meeting, Cambodia prime minister called U.N to put the meeting on hold for him to resolve the problem.
Finally Cambodian prime minister takes the credit for nothing. To Cambodian, he is the greatest hero.

Cambodian is the one to worry about the stupidity.
In the last 100 years, it lost Surin and Kampuchea Krom to its neighbors.
After Vietnam invasion, it lost the oil mineral to Vietnam as well.
Vietnam pumped hundred of million dollars worth of oil while Khmer people still thanking Vietnam.
Under United Nation territory’s law, that oil mineral island is officially Vietnam since they had no such claimed from Cambodian government filed in the graceful period.

The next Cambodia election is the crucial time because in order to claim excuse the next government must be the one not involve in the current political movement (Thorm Mek Reachea per Khmer prophecy).
Khmer Rouge didn’t file the claim since 1975.
The People Party didn’t file a claim since 1979 (this government has only a few more month to file the claim).

In all refugee camps around the world, I think Thai was one of the abusive authorities.
Any refugee in the early 1980s should have some kind of witnessing the inhumane treatment by Thai soldiers.

It was even so sad for Cambodian. Their leaders had no idea of where they were up to.
After the creation of United Nation, no any Cambodian government had a will to file an open territory dispute (Surin and Kampuchea Krom).
For Cambodian people, they kept blaming the king such as Chey Chetha II for the loss of Cochinchine but the real loss of those territories was 30 years after the creation of the United Nation. The final loss was in the last few elections.

They had many knowledgeable people that concerned about Cambodian territory such as the one who persuaded UN and super powers to write the peace agreement against the UN law and forced Cambodian factions at the time to sign. I think, later that person persuaded U.S to spend money for fencing Cambodian border.
The sad thing was Cambodian government accused U.S interfering their sovereignty for offering assistance on the border matter.

As of today, I still don’t know how the last chapter of Cambodian prophecy can be achieved.
The opportunity was in the post cold war but it didn’t happen because Cambodia herself couldn’t even walk by her own in that time.
Talking about military might, I don’t think Cambodia can match Vietnam or Thailand.
Just wait to see if the last chapter of the prophecy ever makes it.
Was the current Thai political crisis is just the beginning?

I know, I hope Cambodia will do something better.
For me after study khmer history we can not just blaming the king, we have to blaming everyone. When we fight inside we should not as outside people to help then give them the land at all. We all Khmer the same as family everything we can talk ta right?

dump when u talk about the Cambodian prophecy r u refering to the book "dom ner tov ters kank lech" I read that book it tells a very scary story about Cambodia future and most of the prediction are already coming true. I hope things get better between the asian nations.... but... Cambodia will one day reclaim all of what is rightfully ours... Also I do not believe for one second Thai and Vietnam's Military programs are more advance than ours.... for all we know we have a secret weapon secured in our nation somewhere..... but I do not like to assume anything... I just believe the Thai people have to let it go and finally accept the fact that the territory is ours lawfully and historically.... !!!!!

That was just part of it.
I remembered in the book “Stone Cries” (I can’t remember the correct title of the book), King Sihanouk described General Lon Nol as the believer.
All the prophecies pointed to the events after year 2500 of the Buddhist.
The sign to look for is the king behavior, the castle gold and silver, and the 8 direction leaders.
By 1970; all of the signs was identified and immediately after the coup d’état, Gen. Lon Nol declared the prophecy had been complete and Cambodian would be having the same housing and it even didn’t pickup a piece of gold on the street.
To prevent war, Cambodia needed billion dollar emergency fund. This money could easily get from U.S if Lon Nol knew how to tell U.S about a billion dollar emergency aid would lead U.S won the losing war.
The second problem was the Queen refusal to declare war after Prince Sihanouk declared war or legitimized Vietnam waging war in Cambodia.

Cambodia plunged into war and the prophecy was actually in the making.
In Lon Nol research center, many prophecies had been collect.
Observe from the research, Cambodia had three major prophecies (source).
In addition, they had live prophecy which was prophesized by the group called “Baramey”.
I classified them into two categories. The prophecy must happen and the prophecy that may not happen.
Khmer-Rouge reign must happen because local prophecy had also prophesized the event in question.
Mr. Eng wrote UN and super powers to ignore the UN charter and write peace agreement to force them to sign.
If you can obtain that copy from UN or from any super power, you will see he foretell about the coup d’état that People Party did a few years after the peace agreement.
To prevent that from happening, he wrote the King to keep two powers when the king returned Cambodia and those leaders tried to show their loyalty to Khmer people.
According to Mr. Eng plan, all the debt must cancel prior signing peace agreement.
The new government would get between $10 to $100 billions from U.S and about $5 billions from China for reconstruction.
ALL it has to do is to say the right word.

He also requested U.S to spend money and effort fencing Cambodia border including claiming the oil mineral island from Vietnam that was seized from Khmer-Rouge in 1975.
Unfortunately, Cambodian government refused such assistance and accused U.S of interfering Cambodia affair.

I am just wondering, if Khmer-Rouge just let that mineral island go, was any Vietnamese liberation?
I am very doubt about it because prior the invasion, Vietnam didn’t help Khmer people in the world arena at all. Even one U.S senator asked volunteer force to liberate Cambodia from Khmer-Rouge in just a few months prior Vietnam invasion.

When People Party used Preach Vihear for election ploy, I was very concern to the content in the prophecy you stated.
In other hand, what People Party gives Thailand in return for their loss of minister for helping Cambodian ruling?

Why I doubt the election ploy?
UN security counsel called for emergency meeting, Cambodia P.M told them to put on hold as he personally talked out of it with Thai P.M.
If you are Thai people you shall ask the following question, if that land is Khmer, why Khmer P.M so scare of UN security counsel intervention?

I watched military strategy throughout the crisis.
With troop fighting, Cambodia has an edge over Thailand but in the air field, Thai can destroy Cambodian tank with no time at all. Cambodian troop cannot fight in an open field unless so many fields are fire at the same time.
Cambodian has a major advantage on the ground because most of the local people are Khmer Surin. It is about one million people in that Preach Vihear border’s province alone.

The best time Cambodia can get all its territory back was at the end of cold war where the major ethnic people could separate country.

For now, Cambodia didn’t even bore to file the open claim, how can Khmer claim those territory as their?
When the first Lady of U.S (JFK wife) visited Cambodia, Prince Sihanouk told the media that Vietnam fought for their land and he supported their cause.
So far, all the Khmer leaders acknowledge those lands are either Thai or Vietnam, which land are we talking about?
