Okay...I need help. I had dl 200 pound beauty from mega, but apparently I can't play any of the files. Its in AVI. but none of my program plays avi. Can someone help me?

You need codecs to play avis. If you're looking for a one stop solution to codecs, try googling k-lite codecs which contains ffdshow, which can play almost anything. If you're like me and you want specific codecs, first you must determine what codec the avi is encoded with, which if found on this site, should be either xvid or divx. Plenty of links available if you google it. Or if you're having trouble locating it, I'm sure someone can upload it to Megaupload for you.

Ahh, thanks. I'll just ask my brother to hook me up with it or something. I don't want to bother with it. Besides he needs to fix my labtop. My wireless connection sucks on there. I keep on getting booted offline. I can't load a video all the diswithout having it to disconnect.

Are u use your home network? if your home network yes one for while it do that. I done fix two or three time by just turn off your router and modem for 10 or 15 sec. then turn back on will be fine. and don't forgot restart ur laptop too.
if it is not work u can just refresh your your router. kind like reset your web key. hope that will help

yeah i tried all that. Nothing works. I think something happen after the screen was fix. He rebooted my labtop and I didn't have it for almost a year. After I recieved it my internet connection just sucks. Don't know what it is.

Check for spyware, make sure no other program loads without permission from you (via msconfig or something that allows you to check for what program loads at system startup). If you're using windows, make sure to update to the latest service packs. I have dsl so weather (rain and strong winds) affects my connection, making me go offline, nothing I can do about that. Also make sure you have firewall enabled. And make sure you have the codecs installed, if you don't, regardless of what you do, you wont be able to play the avi's.

Anyone real good with vista? Recently I started getting APPCRASH on several applications (Fair Use Wizard 2 among them) so I'm having trouble ripping my dvds. Before you suggest I try another application, I'm pretty sure the problem is not FU2 related and has more to do with vista. I would rather have the issue be resolved so as to properly maintain my pc then try another ripping program, as the latter solution would still leave me with an APPCRASH problem. Any ideas?
